Our Outside area is protected from wind and the weather by heavy-duty clears, with 3 overhead electric heaters providing warmth in the few winter months, which makes this area a hit year-round.
There are 4-6 tables seating 6 persons each on benches, depending on arrangement of tables and reservation needs. Our 4-legged friends can come along to have lunch or dinner with their owners in this area, with water provided.
At the end of the room under a nice chandelier is our 'Stammtisch' - a large table with padded bench seating on 3 sides and a few chairs on the outside. This table easily seats 14.
Further, we have tables with chairs that can be arranged as required. We have 4 tables for 4 people, and 2 for 6 people inside, and rearrange as required for larger groups booked.
In total, we can seat 40-42 people inside in one sitting.
Further, we have two glass-door display fridges in the guestroom, there is a double door fridge as well as a double-door freezer. Here we display a range of German Beers and Soft drinks, and we sell some of the German and Eropean 'Delkcatessen', an opportunity to expand beyond current range as there is no Delicatessen shop in Hervey Bay at the moment. These fridges provide a nice extra income as many of our valued guests take home some self-made Sauerkraut, a German Meatloaf or even some German Sausages.
In the Bar we have one undercounter fridge to hold some wine, we have a kegerator to offer German beer on tap and change the beer every other week to provide variety for our guests. Always a hit to have a German Pils or Lager or Weissbier on tap, keeps the guests interested and coming back for more!
We also have a glasswasher here in the bar under the counter, and an Espresso-Machine on top. The counter towards the guestroom has room for the computer and POS system, and the telephone for take-away orders. We also manage to have a tip jar here for the staff members. :-)
The kitchen area has been completely ripped out and renewed from floor to ceilings in 2021, including electricity and all furnishings. It is well laid out, has a large Walk-in Cool room and a smaller Walk-in Freezer which are all new in 2021. Here we store enough produce for a week's worth of trade.
The Cooking area is new except for the double-size combi oven, which is an older model but works a treat, and the exhaust system which was retained in the overhaul.
We have a large cook-top, a grill and a hotplate, and two deep-fryers. All new stainless in 2021. We prep in the middle of the room on a counter station that is moveable and contains a built-in fridge, and there is a separated dishwashing area and further storage.
Our system allows a single cook to manage easily all dine-in and take-away orders to come out within a maximum of 15 minutes wait-time. Everything is within easy reach and this system is included in the sale if you'd like to continue the current restaurant.
Outside the back of the restaurant there is a small fenced in courtyard for additional outside storage and a passageway to take deliveries straight into the kitchen.
We are sharing a private parking lot with 2 other businesses and find that parking is easy and sufficient for our capacity, there is also plenty of on-street parking around the block which is unrestricted and free parking.
This restaurant is on a corner block on a main thoroughfare in the middle of town just a stone-throw from the esplanade, very easy to reach and just across the police station and courthouse, which keeps vandals away. This is one of the fastest growing townships in Australia.
Our staple is the humble Schnitzel (Chicken or Pork with a veggie option) with a variety of toppings, Slow cooked Ribs and a variety of German Sausages.
We have a full liquor license allowing us to serve any alcohol, with beer and wines of the world of offer and a variety of Austrian and German Schnapps to finish the meals and enhance digestion :-)
