My name is Gerry, I am the owner and operator of the 'Hervey Bay Schnitzel & Ribs' Restaurant.
I learned my trade in Austria and have seen a bit of this world. I have been in the restaurant business for over 30 years, ran my own restaurants in South Africa before moving to Australia in 2004. I settled in Sydney, and opened and operated a couple of successful Schnitzel-Restaurants in Sydney.
After a divorce I decided for a sea-change and came to this lovely place called Hervey Bay! This place is paradise! Large enough to have everything you need but small enough to feel like a small town... come and see for yourself, I haven't met many people that didn't fall in love with this place.
So I opened the Hervey Bay Schnitzel & Ribs in 2021. It has been a great experience and many locals and visitors happily join us for our lunch and dinner services!
I have developed a system to prepare for the day and cook, delivering high quality meals very quickly and with great consistency, similar in concept to some of the biggest fast food chains with my own Austrian / German menu.
High quality ingredients are used to deliver a great dining experience at an affordable price point with a minimum of staff keeping the costs down. Ideal for an Owner / Operator.
As I am retiring, I am happy to pass on this system and train the new owner during the handover if you want to continue this business as is, or else put your own personal mark on the restaurant, I am flexible to meet your needs.
